This Privacy Policy describes how Mahalo Power LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the Mahalo Media digital reading application, the books.mahalopower.com website, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. We do not store your password in plaintext.

Purchase information. When you make a purchase, our payment processor Stripe, Inc. collects your payment card details. We receive from Stripe a transaction record that includes the amount, date, and a tokenized reference to your payment method. We do not store full payment card numbers.

Reading activity. We store your reading progress (current book, current scene, timestamp) to enable the resume-reading feature across devices. We do not use reading activity for advertising purposes.

Device and application data. The Mahalo Media application stores your reading preferences (font, theme, playback speed, and similar settings) and a locally encrypted cache of purchased book assets on your device. This data does not leave your device except as described in this Policy.

Usage data. We may collect standard server access logs including IP address, browser or application version, pages accessed, and timestamps. These logs are used for security monitoring and service maintenance and are not linked to individual user profiles for advertising purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Process purchases and deliver purchased content to your library
• Synchronize your reading progress and preferences across devices
• Respond to support requests and communications
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
• Comply with applicable legal obligations
• Send transactional communications (purchase receipts, account notices)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your personal information for behavioral advertising.

3. How We Share Your Information

We disclose your information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers. We share information with third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Service, including Stripe, Inc. for payment processing. These vendors are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.

Legal compliance. We may disclose information when required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, or investigate fraud.

Business transfer. If Mahalo Power LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes (such as records of financial transactions, which we retain for a minimum of seven years).

Reading progress and preference data associated with your account will be deleted when your account is deleted.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Book assets stored on your device are encrypted using a device-bound key stored in your device's secure keychain. Authentication tokens are stored in the operating system keychain and are not accessible to other applications.

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies and Tracking

The books.mahalopower.com website uses session cookies necessary for authentication and secure browsing. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. The Mahalo Media application does not use cookies; authentication tokens are stored in the OS keychain.

7. Children's Privacy

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at support@mahalopower.com. We will take steps to remove that information and terminate any associated account.

Parents and guardians who purchase content for children under 13 are responsible for supervising their child's use of the Service. The account holder (parent or guardian) is the data subject for all purposes under this Policy.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

• Access. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction. You may request that we correct inaccurate information about you.
• Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Portability. You may request your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
• Objection. You may object to processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending notice to the email address associated with your account. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
